Founder’s Note:

Dr. Bakhtawar Singh is a social entrepreneur known for his impactful humanitarian work across the country. He has dedicated his life to improving education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment for underprivileged communities. With over 20 years of experience in senior management roles in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Singh’s greatest achievements come from his commitment to serving humanity.

In 2007, he founded Care Foundation and Emmanuel Public School in Pune, providing education for underprivileged children. His passion has made a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most, highlighting the importance of supporting our nation’s most vulnerable.

As a leading educator and social entrepreneur, Dr. Singh is a strong advocate against the exploitation of children and marginalised groups. His work inspires hope and aims to create joyful childhoods for all vulnerable children.

For us, this journey feels just a beginning. We envision reaching even further, touching more lives, and helping create a future filled with prosperity and happiness.

Programmes

Emmanuel Public School

Care Foundation started Emmanuel Public School in 2007-2008 in Chandan Garden, Kondhwa, Pune, to provide quality English-medium education and healthcare services to the underprivileged children and their families.

Emmanuel Public School began with just two students, and today it has grown to serve 500 children and growing. The school focuses on quality education and holistic development of each child, emphasising both academics and personal growth. In addition to dedicated teachers, volunteer staff regularly visit the school to enhance learning and provide extra support. Everyday, children receive a nutritious meal to support their health and well-being.

Eye Care Check Up, Preventive Care, Immunisation Schemes, Health Care Camps, Medical Counselling, Mother-Daughter Programme

Women Empowerment: Stitching Programme

Our Women’s Empowerment Program equips women with practical skills and confidence to build a sustainable livelihood. Through our tailoring and stitching courses, women from underserved communities learn the art and business of sewing, gaining valuable expertise in garment-making and design. After completing our program, around 100 women have successfully launched their own small tailoring businesses, becoming financially independent and supporting their families.

This program not only provides them with a trade but also fosters a sense of self-reliance and pride, creating a ripple effect that strengthens entire communities.

In the last three years, five batches of women have completed our Diploma in Stitching program.
